BEN breaking news – Starwood signs Lilianfels and Echoes

Starwood Luxury Collection to debut in Australia.

Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide has announced its first Luxury Collection properties in Australia, with the rebranding of the Lilianfels and Echoes resorts in the NSW Blue Mountains west of Sydney.

Under the new brand, the two hotels will become “Lilianfels, a Luxury Collection Resort, Blue Mountains, Australia” and “Echoes, a Luxury Collection Resort, Blue Mountains, Australia,” with the move effective from next Mon 13 Feb 2012.

Starwood regional vice president Sean Hunt said the signing celebrated the properties’ “distinctive character, indigenous charm and unparalleled service that allow guests to experience the scenic Blue Mountains in a unique way”.

Global Brand Leader for St Regis and The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, Paul James, said signing the iconic Australian properties was a significant milestone for the brand, which currently has 13 hotels in the Pacific region.

Both hotels will introduce the signature Luxury Collection Concierge service, which “will provide extraordinary access to Blue Mountains’ indigenous charms and treasures,” the company said.
